This book was born from my love of baseball and a desire to better understand why the Dominican Republic—a country smaller than Indiana—produces such an extraordinary number of Major League Baseball stars. I spent just over a week in and around San Pedro de Macorís, documenting and observing as much baseball as possible. My goal was simple: to capture the passion, dedication, and spirit of the game at its roots. The result is a coffee table book and accompanying gallery exhibition showcasing the work created during that journey.
Nacido Para Jugar Béisbol (Born to Play Baseball) is a fully customized 12" x 12", 110-page book. Every element—from the paper stock and binding to the cover design—was carefully selected to reflect the raw, authentic character of Dominican baseball culture.
A limited edition of 1,000 copies will be produced. Of those, 500 copies will be distributed as promotional pieces to clients and industry professionals with whom I have had the privilege of working. The remaining 500 copies will be available for purchase online.
